The Saint Louis University Glee Club of Baguio City has had a long tradition of concession in rendering the brunt of choral music. The club stages its major concerts and performances at the Center for Culture and the Arts, a theatre company located at the main campus of Saint Louis University, Baguio City. As resident choir of Saint Louis University since 1993, members have been drenched with privileges aside from scholarship grants, free musical and theatrical training and other extra curricular privileges. The group has also embarked local tours and international vantures in the United States of America like San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. Music from every music epoch will be performed from serious to more pop/contemporary a cappella forms. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

A restless, energetic SATB piece suitable for Collegiate choirs. A driving piano part--influenced by minimalism and rock music--provides a rhythmic impetus for more expansive, colorful vocal lines. At turns frenzied, lyrical, and visceral, this piece pays disillusioned tribute to that not-so-glamorous icon of the open road, the Greyhound bus.

Using the simple view that a good song is a good song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. Using the simple view that a good song is a good song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. The choir delights in introducing new songs that are connected by their unique choral sound, rather than from a particular genre and it is this wide appeal and their sense of fun that has meant the group is in constant demand and continually attracts new members. Even in its early days the choir never quite conformed to the accepted norms of what should be included in their repertoire. However, this in no way hindered its appeal and it went on to win a number and prestigious competitions including one of the largest Eisteddfods for male choirs in Wales, an award for services to the arts from Chelmsford City Council and passed the advanced choral singing examination of The Associated Board of the Royal College of Music Successive musical directors contributed the choir`s ...    less
