Made of young singers between the ages of 17 and 26 from different nationalities, the World Youth choir is a remarkable educational and social experience through different vocal traditions at the highest artistic level. The World Youth choir is a really original social and artistic project. Artistically speaking, it is a unique experience for young singers to develop their musical and vocal talents by interacting with internationally recognized conductors and challenging repertoires in a professional level. Socially speaking, the World Youth choir contributes to the raising of new generations of “Citizens of the World”. The choir itself is composed of students, staff, faculty, and members of the Twin Cities community. Over the years, the choir’s repertoire has included performances of: Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, The Requiems of Brahms and Mozart, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, and others. Auditions held every August and January.

Although the choir originated and is based in Preston, Lancashire, members come from all over the North West. Individual choir members are involved in a wide range of local community projects and often call upon the whole choir to help drive fundraising events across the region. One Voice Community choir celebrates diversity and continually sources new material from its multi-cultural roots. The inspired leadership of Musical Director Tyndale Thomas MBE, combined with 14 years of performance experience has produced a stunning sound and versatile choral ensemble.
