In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo adds an improvised accompaniment (in a one-take rendition) to his composition "Northern Lights"-- which is published as an unaccompanied piece. Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moment", the project was entitled "In the Moment". The other composition to which he created an improvised accompaniment was "Ubi Caritas". He also accompanied the choir on "The Ground", which includes CWU's resident faculty quartet -- the Kairos String Quartet. Singers: Valley Chamber Chorale members are talented Singers committed to a high standard of performance. Just as our concerts display a dynamic diversity in programming and instrumentation, so do our Singers reflect marvelous variety. Our members are educators and students, physicians and attorneys, stay-at-home moms, clergy, pilots, corporate executives and professional musicians. Some have sung with the Chorale for more than 30 years – some have sung just a year. Chorale members tend to be actively involved in the community and sing with the group as a way to share the gift of music with our St. Croix Valley audiences. It is supported by a smaller, auditioning Fulham Camerata Ensemble which is made up of professional and semi-professional Singers, allowing the main Camerata to tackle exciting repertoire and maintain high musical standards while fostering the careers of young professionals. The choir also offers choral scholarships to promising young soloists which provides vocal support for the amateur choir, and fosters career development for the scholars. The amateur and ensemble groups come together for at lEast three main concerts a year with additional Christmas concerts, sometimes with orchestra. The professional choir performs in Boston and New York with a unique group of Singers from all over the country. The group is made up entirely of students at Berklee College of Music. The name, Crepusculum, is the Latin word for twilight, or the perfect blending of light and dark (voices).
