Rhythmic and thought-provoking. This is a work of medium difficulty, appropriate for high school, collegiate and community Choirs. Commissioned by Penn High School Choirs, andrew Nemeth, Allison Secaur, Ethan Schopp, directors.  

Performance by the Mansfield University Concert Choir conducted by Peggy Dettwiler at the 2014 World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia. they won a gold medal and second place in the Spiritual Category.

In the beginning, Greenwood Singers specialized in the performance of a cappella music from different stylistic periods. Its programming has now expanded to include works with soloists, instrumental ensembles and chamber orchestra. A versatile ensemble, the Choir has performed frequently with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a wide variety of programs which have included Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, Holst’s the Planets, family Christmas concerts, the concert version of Jerome Kern’s Showboat, Orff’s Carmina Burana (with the Alberta Ballet) and the ESO’s 1992 reunion with the British rock group, Procol Harum. Greenwood Singers has also performed with the Alberta Baroque Ensemble and has been heard on regional and national broadcasts on CBC Radio-Canada. I...    less

Weekly sessions, under the instruction of a highly enthusiastic and experienced Natural Voice Practitioner and registered British Voice Association teacher, will provide opportunities for you to sing in harmony, discover new techniques and to improve your musicality, understanding and appreciation of music. with your newly found confidence you will tackle more complicated and challenging musical arrangements and enJoy hearing the finished result – just for pleasure! Whilst we “work” hard these sessions are enJoyable social events. there is discipline and structure but also fun, laughter and a strong sense of teamwork as we rehearse songs from a variety of genres, performing new musical arrangements to suit a variety of tastes. Trying to fit LCGC into a neat slot is virtually impossible. LCGC is known for their up-tempo gospel flair, swing-beat, R’n'B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with their invigorating choreography and vocal gymnastics – LCGC is outstanding to watch! It’s 40+ members perform just about anywhere, private corporate functions, after-show parties, conferences, schools, cabaret functions, clubs, weddings, christenings, funerals, prisons, churches, open-air festivals, theatres and concert halls. LCGC have sung on the soundtrack for Walt Disney’s “the Lion King”, performed for Nelson Mandela during his famous visit to London, officiated at many celebrity weddings and supported Madonna on stage during Live 8. they represent the best of British and have been sponsored by the British Council at international festivals in Europe, Africa and Israel. We're a Choir of about 40 adults who enJoy singing contemporary and fun songs in a relaxed environment. We rehearse on Monday nights above a pub in London SE22. We currently have a waiting list for Alto and Soprano parts but we're worth it!

A gospel song, celebrating Pentecost and recorded by the Choir in their homes during the Covid-19 lockdown of Spring Summer 2020. the song premiered on London's Wandsworth Prison Radio on 31st May 2020 is dedicated to the staff and prisoners there.
