Presenting many challenges, the 8 minute piece is based on an octatonic scale and divides into as many as 20 parts. For a short while there are 4 conductors. The video includes subtitles. It was recorded May of 2010 in the CentralWashington University Music Building Concert Hall. The choir has also recorded YouTube videos that feature music of Claudio Monteverdi, Ola Gjeilo, John Muehleisen, Vijay Singh and Tomás Luis da Victoria. The group's normal size is...  moreExultate (Egg-sul-TAH-teh) is a Chamber choir and orchestra, based in the Twin Cities, MN, founded in 1996 by Dr. Thomas D. Rossin, conductor. Exultate is the Twin Cities' only professional choir with a self-contained orchestra. The group's normal size is about 45 singers and 22 instrumentalists. Once a year Exultate expands its ranks to become a larger-than-Chamber festival choir and orchestra, performing and recording such major works for voices and instruments as A German Requiem by Brahms (sung in English), The Seven Last Words of Christ by Théodore Dubois (also in English), Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor, Francis Poulenc's Gloria, the Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach and the Requiems of Gabriel Fauré and John Rutter. Exultate has produced nineteen recordings so far - seven are Christmas albums with unique Christmas carol arrangements, many written especially for Exultate. All members of Newquay Male Voice Choir, they are a rehearsed, a cappella, male Chorus with a repertoire consisting of over 100 songs including Shanties, Cornish folk, 1960s classics, seasonal & sacred music. Their 4-part harmony and infectious humour has brought them popularity as their repertoire and reputation have grown. Entertaining for pleasure, they raise thousands of pounds for voluntary, charity & community groups. £1200 profit from donations and their first CD was donated to “The Cove” Cancer Centre and further donations have been made to RNLI and Cornwall Blood Bikes (who have received more than £3400 as their current charity). Live broadcasts on local radio and a recording by ‘Spotlight’ for BBC Television followed.
