The driving force for the formation of this group is Faith Ragland, a trained passionate classical violinist and cellist, who has a rich experience of playing for and conducting choirs. He is an advanced level violinist and a musician with the India Youth Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Vijay Upadhyaya. He has the rich experience of conducting choirs and has undergone a conducting workshop in Italy and had master classes under the world class conductor and the co-founder of Kings Singers, Simon Carrington. He has been invited to the Stamps Baxter School of Music, USA on a scholarship. Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals.
