This smallest and most select of the Hofstra Choirs comprises the best singers at the ...  moreThe Hofstra Chamber Choir specializes in the study of traditional, contemporary and multicultural choral repertoire, extending from the Renaissance to the 21st century. This smallest and most select of the Hofstra Choirs comprises the best singers at the University, both within and outside the Department of Music, and focuses on the distinct art of unaccompanied, or a cappella, ensemble singing, presented in carefully chosen performance spaces that are uniquely attuned to celebrate the human voice's potential. From an educational standpoint, the ensemble serves two main functions for the University. First, it acts as a laboratory for Hofstra’s future music educators, both undergraduate and graduate, providing outlets for the exploration of the art of ensemble preparation through the study of the highest-quality choral literature. Open to students, faculty, staff, and community members, the Choral Union performs 3-4 concerts per year with the Drew University Festival Orchestra in the Concert Hall of the Dorothy Young Center for Arts.  

Direttore: Gino Victor Ruoso. Il Coro Cadore nasce ufficilamente nel 1965 su iniziativa di Gian Piero Genova. Nel 2001 gli succede la figlia Gabriella. Il Coro ha al suo attivo molti concerti in Italia ed alcuni importanti trasferte: Parigi, Sud Africa, G...  moreDirettore: Gino Victor Ruoso. Il Coro ha al suo attivo molti concerti in Italia ed alcuni importanti trasferte: Parigi, Sud Africa, Germania, Brasile, Croazia. Nel 2008 Gabriella lascia il Coro e viene sostituita brevemente dal M° Benedetto Fiori e, in seguito, da Marta De Colle. Attualmente il direttore è Gino V. Ruoso con cui il Coro mantiene il carattere popolare e di montagna, con ampliamento a brani di autori contemporanei.  less
