Both from Diwali, the festival of Lights. The piece is about the festival, its ceremonies, the beauty of the surroundings and blessings to the house in whose porch the carolers sing. We live in the Isle of Man, a small island with a population of about 80,000 situated in the Irish Sea, between England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. It is a Crown Dependency which means it is a self governing possession of the British Crown. We are very proud of our parliament, Tynwald which claims to be the world's oldest parliament in continuous existence, dating back to 979. We also issue our own bank notes, coins and stamps and enjoy a unique perspective in terms of our language, (Manx Gaelic), history, music and art. It is a beautiful island with very varied scenery. The choir developed fast and increased its artistic level. Already in November 2007 it took part in National choral Competition "Cantio Lodziensis" in Lodz and won the second prize and Minister of Education Special Award. Since then, the choir has taken part in many competitions and choir festivals in Poland, always winning awards. It is the best of its kind in Lodz and one of the best in Poland.
