God is always in control - in the Bible, He influenced Persian Kings, Babylonian Kings, Roman Caesars - and here an Egyptian Pharaoh! His dream was not random scattered thoughts - it was a prophecy of the next 14 years in the nation of Egypt! Although Pharaoh had no idea what his vision meant, he clearly was troubled and sought answers from his trusted wise men...but to no avail! Present was the butler who finally remembered the Hebrew slave that had interpreted his dream 2 years before. (Spiritual application: Would Joseph have lost his faith in prison? Anne Frank was between the ages of 13 and 15 when she wrote her Diary, while living in a secret upstairs annex over a warehouse in Amsterdam with her family, the Van Pels family and Fritz Pfeffer. Despite the fears and frustrations she experienced in over two years of hiding from the Nazis, Anne learned how to survive, even to find beauty in small things and to hold on to her ideals.
Composer Linda Tutas Haugen writes: "My goals for this composition are to honor the life of Anne Frank and to gain a deeper understanding of what she, her family, and friends experienced during the Holocaust."
