Formed in 2002, VerSeS is a semi-pro chamber choir that focuses heavily on Acappella music both sacred and secular.

5 Soulful Ladies and 1 groovy Bass take you on an a cappella trip full of diversity from swing to R&B, from scandinavian sounds to singer/song-writer ballads, from Manhatten Transfer to POSTYR all with our own Lady Talk flavor!

There are no auditions and The Standard of music that we produce is consistently high. We are regularly supported by high quality professional soloists and orchestras with The result that we produce highly enjoyable and satisfying concerts for audience and singers alike. We believe that anyone who enjoys singing should be able to experience The fun of making music with oTher people. All we ask is enthusiasm and a willingness to join in! Whilst in all parts of The choir we have some excellent singers, capable and willing to perform solo or in small groups this is not a requirement for joining. Typically we perform four concerts each season and rehearsals are held each Tuesday evening during school term-time at The Sele School in Hertford. The Ensemble is made up of undergraduates and graduates of Cambridge University, and currently The choirs of King’s, St John’s and Trinity colleges are represented. Recent concerts have included performances of Gesualdo’s Tenebrae Responsories for Maundy Thursday (Feria Quinta), Monteverdi madrigals and anThems by Byrd. The Ensemble has also performed music by Ligeti, Rheinberger and arrangements by Philip Lawson. Future engagements include a lunchtime concert in The Cambridge St John’s Music Festival, as well as concerts at Jesus and Caius colleges.  less
