We specialize in a cappella music from various genres. We maintain two rosters of singers: classical and pop. Our pop roster focuses on Broadway, jazz, and pop; our classical roster focuses on traditional choral music.

The choir, which has a membership of around 30 voices, was formed in 2007 by its Musical Director, Sheila Farmer. A cappella is a touring choir, having visited Prague and France, and hoping to make a tour to Spain in the near future. The choir rehearses every other Saturday morning, between 10 a.m. and noon.

Thompson. The 40-80 member A cappella choir offers freshman and sophomore singers the opportunity to perform works for larger choirs and to fine-tune the art of choral singing through exposure to music from the Renaissance through the 21st century. In daily rehearsals, choir members hone musicianship skills such as rhythm, sight-reading and the understanding of complex scores. They develop an understanding of the intricacies of vocal production, including pitch and how to blend individual voices together into a unified, beautiful sound. Finally, members learn how to sing in an ensemble and to successfully meld as a team. The choir frequently performs with other School of Music ensembles, including the Utah Philharmonia orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, the Chamber choir and Women’s Chorus. As musical ambassadors for the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View, they are excited to reach our broader community to present a highlight of contemporary a cappella music and showcase the choral program at CSMA.

The group’s catalog encompasses a range of indie-folk, Top 40 and alternative songs from the last forty years. Bonded by a passion for music and performance, the members of KeyStone immensely enjoy connecting with the audience and each other.
