We meet on Monday nights at Trinity Chapel, Robert Menzies College from 7.00-9.30pm during school terms. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome, regardless of musical experience.

This performance was recorded on 5th December 2010 in The Harvey Nichols Espresso Bar in Leeds' magnificent Victoria Quarter in The first of St Peter's Singers' now-traditional annual series of Sunday evening carol concerts There.
The Choir is directed by Dr Simon Lindley, its Music Director since The Singers' formation in June 1977.

Somerville Choir is curr... moreThe Choir of Somerville College Oxford, in its present form, was founded by Francis Knights and Sam Bayliss in 2001. The Choir sings evensong every Sunday during term and performs in concerts organised by Somerville Music Society. Somerville Choir is currently being conducted by David Crown. He is assisted by The two organ scholars, Douglas Knight and Robert Pecksmith (ofollow">http://www.robert-smith.org.uk ), and Choir manager Stefan Schwarz.
Since David Crown took over as Director of Chapel Music in 2007, The Choir has been involved in two opera productions (Purcell's 'Dido and Aeneas ' and Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice') as well as concerts in Oxford, Brighton, Wells, Swindon, Upton upon Severn and Steeple Aston. In recent years The Choir has also sung evensong at Southwark, Worcester, Winchester, Wells and Berlin CaThedrals.

It was Mr. Bonnie Fonseka, a distinguished Old Boy, who's vision soon came to be a Benedictine tradition, by forming a musical club. This prompted The birth of The first College Choir. The Choir acquired a reputation for top class singing and in addition often invited to perform at important national events such as to perform with oTher schools when princess Elizabeth visited Ceylon in 1952.
Since Mr. Bonnie Fonseka’s retirement There were many dedicated young musicians who undertook The responsibility and uphill task of training The Choir. Some of Them were Mr. Robert Joseph, Mr. Francis De Almeida, Mr. Nicholas Johnpulle, Rev Bro. Augustine and Mr. Ravein George.

It has grown to a higher level by achieving numerous titles within The past few years and also recognized as The best Tenor Bass voices from a school Choir around The country. (Title gained 2014 onwards). The Choir has performed in National and International level stages (2012 Rome) and hosting many choral events in negombo including The biggest carol service in Negombo since 2007.(Maris Carols). It is trained by Mr. Francis De Almeida (Choral Director) since 2004. This Choir has influences some youth Choirs including Speranza , etc.... And also The Past Pupils Choir (The Old Maris Choir).
