Performances include world-renowned guest soloists and musicians. the ensemble is directed by internationally acclaimed conductor and composer Steven Sametz. Lehigh University Choral Union has performed at New York's Carnegie Hall and has toured internationally in China, Portugal, Hawaii, Italy, Spain, Austria and Hungary. No audition is required but the ability to read music is helpful.  less

Administratively, the Choir is an association (french law 1901). the repertoire of the Choir is varied: classical music, gospel, jazz, music of the world, variety. Depending on the works, the Choir is accompanied by its regular pianist at the piano, by renowned orchestra, or by orchestra made up of professional musicians for specific events. We rehearse at the Bundoora campus of La Trobe University, Victoria, Australia on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Our objectives are to rehearse and perform choral music, to participate in InterVarsity Choral Festivals and to do whatever else seems relevant. the Society is a non-auditioned choir, but it has been suggested that we could have a small, auditioned group within the society (perhaps called "Graduate Singers" or such like). Another possibility is that we could sing at graduation ceremonies in Union Hall. Another possibility is a joint concert with another UCS. And what sort of music should we sing? Madrigals? Handel's Messiah? COME ALONG AND HAVE YOUR SAY!  less
