We offer an opportunity for young people to sing and produce Music both formally and informally through regular rehearsals and concerts, as well as local workshops and residential weekends.  

We are a polyphonic choral ensemble based in Grosseto, Italy and perform mainly Renaissance polyphonic choral Music. We have performed at major festivals in Europe and choral Italian obtaining acknowledgments and appreciation.

Each Choir member has a different and wide-ranging background in solo, operatic and competitive performance, which enhances the choir’s ability to undertake some of the more challenging choral works and contributes to their fresh and unique sound. The Academy Chamber Choir’s repertoire spans from early to contemporary Music. Their most recent success was ranking third in “Irelands Choir of the Year” at Cork International Choral Festival 2013. They then went on to win 1st place in the Early Music, 1st place in the Irish Language and 2nd place in the Sacred Music at Navan Choral Festival 2013. They were 2nd place in RTE Lyric FM’s Choirs for Christmas Competition – Irelands largest choral competition featuring over 400 choirs. Many of our singers are school Music teachers and voice teachers. We perform a wide variety of Music from classical and broadway to pop and vocal jazz. The choir was founded in 2011 by friends who have spent their lives teaching others to perform, but whom rarely get the chance to sing anymore. We are directed by Jason Krigas and accompanied by Kathryn Polyack.

We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine Music and knowing you are a part of a Musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of Music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet Music.
