The choir was established in 1996 (originally in The Lehava High School for Girls) by singer/choral conductor Nomi Teplow with The goal of bringing togeTher girls with musical ability to work on a highly professional level and produce a wide variety of vocal music. The choir is comprised of 25-30 girls from areas throughout Samaria ranging in age from 13-18 years. The Shir-El choir performs in concerts and at vocal conventions across The country bringing fine singing, rich harmonies and words of hope, faith and love of Israel to a broad range of audiences. The Shir E-l choir has won first place several times in The national choral competition for high school choirs sponsored by The Israel Ministry of Education. It was originally formed by Ben Camaso as JCSV Chorale, a name patterned in accordance to The Jaime Cardinal Sin Village Community, which in that time was newly constructed, located at Punta. Sta. Ana, Manila, where The parish is situated. Before, They compose of only girls, singing melody of The songs of The Holy Mass. A year passed, Virgilio Deloso handled The choir, and divided The girls into two voices, The Sopranos and Altos. It was not so long that The group acquired male participants filling up all The voice sections of a chorale. Shortly after, JCSV Chorale was Then disbanded to give rise to what They now call The Munting Himig Chorale, having more than 20 god-endearing and angelic-voiced youth of Punta. From 1969 till now, The choir continues its work successfully having as its director his elder broTher Vassilis Papakonstantinou, with whom it has given many concerts in more than fifty cities in Greece and aboard, as well. It has visited Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerlandn, Hungary, Czech, Bulgaria, France etc. It has won first prices and gold metals in choir competitions.
