Esta agrupación, pionera y decana de la actividad coral argentina, ha desarrollado una intensa labor artística difundiendo la música coral universal, ofreciendo numerosos conciertos en casi la totalidad de las provincias del país y representando a la Argentina en el exterior. Es el primer coro latinoamericano en adjudicarse el Gran Premio Europeo (Francia - 2009), máxima competencia coral a nivel mundial. Merecen destacarse, por la gran repercusión del público y de la crítica especializada, las actuaciones en el Teatro Independencia y Anfiteatro Frank Romero Day (Provincia de Mendoza); Auditorio Juan Victoria (Provincia de San Juan); Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires en 1971, 1975, 1977, 1980, 1988, 2003 y 2011, en el Luna Park en 1994 y 1995 y en el extranjero los conciertos realizados en importantes salas de Alemania, Austria, Chile, Dinamarca, España, Estados Unid...    less

Background The Simon Car...  moreMission The Simon Carrington Chamber Singers – a world-class choral music ensemble led by renowned artistic director Simon Carrington – engages and enriches audiences through concerts, recordings and educational programs. Background The Simon Carrington Chamber Singers (SCCS), led by artistic director Simon Carrington, is a world class choral music ensemble based in Kansas City. The group was founded in 2008 by three of Carrington’s former students who shared the desire to form an elite professional vocal Chamber ensemble under his direction. SCCS, an ensemble of 24 singers, performs a diverse and challenging repertoire that spans the ages. The group showcases a unique sound that reflects Carrington’s musical sensibilities: a clear, bright tone with a measured use of vibrato which allows a clear and expressive delivery of the text. Choir members are based all over the United Kingdom, and we come together only when we rehearse and sing at a Cathedral city. In over 25 years, nearly 400 people from all backgro...  moreChoir members are based all over the United Kingdom, and we come together only when we rehearse and sing at a Cathedral city. We do not belong to any particular geographical area or church denomination. In over 25 years, nearly 400 people from all backgrounds have sung with us - often for the first time in an English Cathedral. The number continues to grow year by year. Martin Hall, our founder, became 'Director Emeritus' in Autumn 2006 and Matthew O' Donovan took over the post of Director in his stead. Because of the way we meet, we don't require formal auditions in advance, but new singers are expected to be excellent sight readers and to have a good choral tone.  less
