The group me...  moreMind & Soul is a community choir based at The Maudsley Hospital in South LonDon, which is open to SLAM service users/staff, Their friends and carers, local People and anyone who accesses mental health services, as well as those who Don't. The group meets every Wednesday evening in The gym at The Maudsley Hospital, 115 Denmark Hill SE5 8AZ between 6-7pm. Our patron is The wonderful Mary King.

As Dunedin’s leading exponent of large-scale choral works, The choir strives for The highest standards in performing The classics of The repertoire, such as Bach’s St MatThew Passion, and Christmas Oratorio, Handel’s Messiah, The Beethoven Ninth and Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius. In addition, The choir has performed major new compositions by New Zealand composers, such as Missa Pacifica by David Hamilton in 2006, and John Drummond’s The Journey Home in 2012. We accomplish our mission by combining The power of women's experience with musical expression in The following ways: 1) each season we commission one new piece for women's voices from a female composer; 2) each season, we research, uncover and perform a work for women's voices by a female composer who has been overlooked in music history; 3) we provide an annual scholarship to one girl to sing with The Phoenix Girl's Chorus and 4) each season, we perform two annual concerts and a variety of local performances in our communities and schools.  less
