The choir was founded in 2005 by several of St. Therese’s Young parishioners, and currently has 53 singers from 27 different parishes in Archdiocese of Jakarta and 3 parishes in Archdiocese of Bogor. As the number of singers grows, Cappella Victoria Jakarta evolves to focus on singing Sacred Polyphony music from the end of the 16th century, especially Roman Polyphony music and its various modern interpretations.
Since 2006, Cappella Victoria Jakarta routinely sings Sacred Polyphony music in Eucharistic Mass in St. Therese of Lisieux Parish. The choir has also sung Sacred Polyphony music in several other Catholic churches in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung and Semarang. Through Sacred Polyphony music, Cappella Victoria Jakarta aspires to contribute in the creation of a sacred and solemn ambience in Eucharistic Mass, in the hope that this ambience will facilitate the faithful to feel closer to the presence of the L... less

The aim of the Horizons Project is not simply to stimulate the creation of new South African choral music; but to stimulate the creation of a new generation of South African choral composers. There are 2 projects a year, each one focusing on a different genre of choral compositions.
The Choir consists of 24 hand-picked singers. By inviting specific ‘head-hunted’ singers to join the choir and not just having open public auditions, allows us to hold an extremely high level of musicianship, technical ability and an exclusivity that makes our sound unique. The choir is conducted and directed by Pieter Bezuidenhout
