In mid-April, 2011, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the Choir in recording 3 of his pieces, (the teaser/trailer URL is found below) This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas" is from that session, following a rendition in which the composer joined the Choir and improvised an accompaniment (URL below). In this video the Choir sings the piece in its published (unaccompanied) version. One behind-the-scenes comment: On the last page of the piece, when the first melodic material occurs again - Ola, who was sitting in the hall, asked half the Choir to hum while the other half sang to create a more ethereal effect. We bring the exuberant and uplifting sound of gospel music to these two Central London churches each month. We wanted a song that spoke to hope and community so we decided on 'The Prayer' as a way of bringing hope and comfort to those that hear the song.

Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the West coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus. The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the music closer to the people and to present the music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All Choir ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival. The limit of the chorister is maximum 35-37 per Choir (including the conductor and the Choir’s leader). The program of the Choir ensemble must be on the category of CLASSICAL, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, or FOLK music. The choice of program it’s free without limit of the instruments that may accompany the Choir ensemble. The duration of performance shall not exceed 20 minutes per performance. The Choir ensembles may have tree performances during the Festival. The following application documents must be provided by the closing date June, 01.Accommodation shall be organized from the organizers in student hostels in Skopje.
