Primary goals are to obtain a strong foundational choral training and raise the standard of non-audition Choirs to the level of auditioned 4-yr collegiate Choirs.  

Academic Choir ''Ivan Goran Kovačić'' was founded in 1948. The Choir was directed by highly regarded Croatian musicians Mladen Jagušt, Duško Prašelj, Lovro Županović, Adalbert Marković, Dinko Fio, Vladimir Kranjčević, and Saša Britvić. The Choir was directed by highly regarded Croatian musicians Mladen Jagušt, Duško Prašelj, Lovro Županović, Adalbert Marković, Dinko Fio, Vladimir Kranjčević, and Saša Britvić. Since the beginning of 2003 the Choir's artistic director is Luka Vukšić. The director's assistant is Veton Marevci. The Choir's performances have been conducted by Croatia's and world's most eminent musicians, such as Lovro von Matačić, Milan Horvat, Zubin Mehta, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Krzysztof Penderecki, Lorin Maazel, Ennio Morricone, Noam Sheriff, Gerd Albrecht, Kazushi Ono, Alun Francis, Hans Graf, Kurt Masur, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Valerij Gergijev, and Sir Neville Marriner. The members of the Choir, also referred to as 'Goranovci', have performed with many opera singers, the most prominent among them being Vladimir Ruždjak, Ruža Pospiš - Baldani, Ruggiero Raimondi, Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Inva Mula, and many others. This 65 to 70 member, mixed-voice ensemble sings for services in Christ Chapel, for Christmas in Christ Chapel, an annual spring tour, and at special College events. Major city tour destinations have included San Antonio, St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee, Lincoln, and Omaha. Membership is by audition. Conducted by Bradon Dean.

When Odwa Mvunge return to his birth community in 2012, after completing his music education studies at Nelson Mandela University, not much has changed. There still was no place in Zolani for the youth to express themselves in cultural activities that was not offered at school nor in the community. After school the youth would loiter around without direction. This lead to the formation of the Zolani Youth Choir. The basic idea and purpose of the Choir is to equip youth of our community with basic music skills. The Choir consists of 25 scholars from different schools who are between the ages of 12 and 26 years. These scholars have no professional training or background in formal music, but have proven to have a passion and love for the art.
