This International Women’s Day, we celebrate what it is to come together as a group of women, and sing.
‘Here in my Heart’ by Sarah Quartel is a favourite piece for many singers in the Choir: it speaks about the beauty of nature and the joy of making music. We last performed this piece in October 2020 at a concert that took place between two national lockdowns, when it felt especially poignant. We hope you enjoy it.

Our mission as an ensemble is to connect with the community and each other through the exploration of quality choral music, including the promotion of women composers, within an engaging, encouraging, and intergenerational environment focused on healthy vocal technique and artistic excellence.
We encourage those with children to join us as we have a tandem youth choral program (Consonare Youth Choirs) that rehearses at the same time. less

nůmama welcomes women from all walks of life and musical abilities. Choir members have included opera singers, circus stage managers and women whose boldest performances have been behind a shower curtain.
The Choir’s musical director, Elaine Chan, is an acclaimed composer and a musical theatre icon in Singapore. She has played a prominent role in guiding the Choir in singing its eclectic repertoire of pop, Broadway numbers, classical choral, and even African chants and gypsy wedding songs.
nůmama has its beginnings as a mother and baby group in 2009, and has since grown into a Choir for all women. Our mission is to be an inexpensive musical support group focusing on the needs of the women. We are best summed up by our strapline: sing:support:escape
