The driving force for the formation of this group is Faith Ragland, a trained passionate classical violinist and cellist, who has a rich experience of playing for and conducting choirs. He is an advanced level violinist and a musician with the India Youth Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Vijay Upadhyaya. He has the rich experience of conducting choirs and has undergone a conducting workshop in Italy and had master classes under the world class conductor and the co-founder of Kings Singers, Simon Carrington. He has been invited to the Stamps Baxter School of Music, USA on a scholarship. By excellence of performance and diversity of musical repertoire, CCC aims to build an appreciative audience for western classical and contemporary music in the city of Coimbatore. Wis Foreward: Santiago Veros wrote Almas de Barro at the age of 19, dedicating it to a young woman who at the time was shy and with whom he rarely talked. This piece intimately describes the moments during music theory classes when the two would look at each other continuously, youthfully, and silently, as if unable to do anything else. The piece, written as a counterpoint assignment, was intended to be performed during music theory class as a declaration of love. The idea was to make a musical representation of those moments. The choir presents liturgical music either written in, or translated to, the Hebrew language. In the few years of the choir's existence Liturgi-Kal is rapidly becoming much more visible on the Israeli music scene due to its emphasis on excellence coupled with the superb choice of musical partners. The choir has worked with the Israeli Chamber orchestra, the Ensemble Barrocade and has had the honor of hosting some of Israel’s finest young Singers as well as special guests from abroad.  less
