An Open World, When I Land and And the Wind are three settings of poems from FletcherLaVallee Bartholomew's collection entitled "And the Wind: Gnostic Poems 1945 - 1979." Minneapolis native Fletcher Bartholomew spent most of his life in aviation, beginning with a childhood flight in a Curtis Robin in 1929. His work in aviation started with a job as an inspector in an aircraft factory. He went on to become a test pilot in World War II, serving at the South India Air Depot at Bangalore, India. He often spoke later of his experience on the ship to India and the people he met travelling around the subcontinent. He subsequently worked in aviation in Munich, Germany, and in Lima, Peru, before he concluded his career working in airport planning and management.  less

This project we did gave some of our members the studio experience while also challenging them in an area of music they were not used to! In this case, the areas we wanted to expose our members to were the ins and outs of recording in the studio, learning a technical piece using the written score and learning how to be aware of our presence while on video. We hope to provide more experiences like this to our members on NGGC. Enjoy!  less

Himig Batingaw was founded in March of 1979 by group of graduating students of Imus Institute to sing for that year's baccalaureate mass. In the first few years of the choir's existence, they conducted rehearsals at the church belfry; hence the name Himig (melody) and Batingaw (peal of bells) was born. the choir is very influential in the rise and development of choral music in the parish and having introduced new pieces for liturgical use most of which are composed or arranged for the group and having graduated noted local musicians from its ranks. the choir began to tread new ground under the directorship of Mr. Edward Gerodias in the late 1980's then on to Mr. Rey Roland Bergado in the late 1990's, both sought after pianists.
