The award winning “Funky Voices” was founded and launched in 2007 to meet the community who sought a choir that Sing modern music that can be enjoyed by everyone, NO AUDITION and NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by highly qualified and experienced music tutors. Sandra Colston BA Hons (Musical Director) arranges the music to suit the choir members, and to bring the music up to date and possible for a choir to Sing.
The Sound
With passions for vocal harmonies, and personal influences being likes of; Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Michael Jackson. The aim is to bring a similar vocal energy to Funky Voices… From Emotional rich harmonies to Feel-good dance tracks, our repertoire includes, including “Take That”, “Michael Jackson”, “Queen”, “Supertramp”, making it an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Invited are people from age 16, regardless of their origin or their faith, to get to know fellowship and Christian love. With about 150 Singers, an organization team of 12 permanent members, a professional engineering and logistics crew, a band consisting of professional musicians and a passionate director Gospelnight Dresden fulfills all requirements to offer visitors of worship a memorable evening in meeting with the joy of the Gospel. Every season by collections we support a project for people in need with 2000-3000 €.

We Sing a varied mix of music from traditional ballads and songs from the West End shows, to popular numbers. We welcome new adult members with or without prior choral experience. You do need some musical ability, but it's not essential to read music. Rehearsals are in Wembdon, near Bridgwater, on a Tuesday evening.

The group’s repertoire is very eclectic: from spirituals to sacred polyphony, from pop music to regional and international folk songs.
The ensemble has performed in many beautiful churches and other landmarks in Rome and in Central Italy, with concerts in the most important concert halls in the capital city and festivals in many wonderful villas and palaces scattered around the countryside near Rome.
In 2007 and 2009 the choir participated with great enthusiasm in the International Choir Festival in Val Pusteria.
In the 2010 regional choir contest at formello the choir came first in the pop category and second in the category for choral music from the 20th and 21st centuries. The choir also won a special prize for having given the best performance of the whole contest.
