VRC ensemble, is a non-auditioned rock/pop Choir, accompanied by a live, professional band, performing at various venues in Toronto. We sing in 3 or 4 part harmony and have a great time!

With approximately 100-115 auditioned members and a professional core of 12 Voices,The choir's repertoire spans 6+ centuries . In addition to our annual subscription series, we sing with both The National Arts Centre Orchestra and The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra . The choir has made five international tours to Italy, Spain, Germany and The Czech Republic and The United Kingdom and Ireland . Following an extensive search which attracted a roster of highly- accomplished choral directors, The impressive and charismatic young conductor and keyboard artist, Jordan de Souza, was appointed Artistic Director and Principal Conductor in July, 2013. This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed Voices. The SYC annually participates in The Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, The SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined The senior and chamber choirs in Their 2009 tour to The UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in The Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries.
