You don’t have to be able to read music or have sung in a choir before, and we don’t audition! We meet every Monday to sing a cappella’ gospel music from African spirituals to gospel classics and soul/pop/rock.  

formed in April 2020 as a result of COVID-19, the group started to continue the passion we all share in music.

Known for fun, musical diversity and standing room only concerts, we celebrate all genres of music from old school gospel, to current uplifting pop, to civil rights anthems, to traditional songs from nations all over the world. 60 voices strong, the Universal Gospel choir is an open, justice-oriented group celebrating the best of choral music and committed to lifting and inspiring the human spirit.

The choir sings an eclectic mix of pop classics, show songs, spirituals and contemporary pieces. We love what we do and we also love to use our singing to contribute to the community of Southend by performing regularly within the town and by raising money for local charities. We have represented Southend further afield with performances at Dublin's Guinness Storehouse and Union Chapel, London.

Atlantic Voices is an amateur choir starting its tenth season with a repertoire consisting mainly of Newfoundland, Maritime, and Celtic songs and music. The goals of the choir are: to represent and showcase Newfoundland and Maritime music and culture in the Ottawa area; to provide its members with the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform choral compositions; and to offer free of charge, musical entertainment to residents of retirement homes, hospitals etc., via in situ community concerts. Members of Atlantic Voices include singers from the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Ontario. Singers and musicians of all backgrounds are invited to join us and explore songs and music from both sides of the Atlantic.  less

Last July, over 100 BIG Sing members flash mobbed the Maldon Tesco Store and the YouTube video has had over 16,000 views, raising money for Cancer Research UK. As well as community events, The BIG Sing have hosted their own sold out shows in Essex and have many more coming up this year! As The BIG Sing grows we are continuing to reach out to more people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to unite people with uplifting music and have seen the choir members grow in confidence, experience the thrill of performing on stage, make new friends and belong to a new choir family.
