We sing popular songs in at least three part harmony and add performance techniques to bring them to life. A weekly hour and a half rehearsal begins with a singing lesson and warm up that provides members with the vocal skills and techniques they need to sing amazing songs from the world of pop, rock and musical theatre including songs from Adele, Take that, Erasure and many more favourite artists.
The lessons are led by our experienced choir leaders who are professional performers themselves and who are skilled at teaching singing and performance.
Anyone can join! No experience necessary, there's no audition and members don't need to be able to read music - they don't even need to have a great voice - just a love of singing! Rehearsals are relaxed and fun with no pressure. Learning is by ear and demonst... less

comes originally from my cantata “The Manchester Magnificat”,
based on Audrey Vaughan’s poems about the religious and social history of the city.
The oratorio was first performed in Manchester Cathedral in 1994.
This psalm forms the climax of the whole cantata and provides an expression of optimism after the
tragedies of the previous sections.
In this “extracted” version, the tragic surroundings of the history remain
in the background and the purebubbling joy of the psalm itself shines forth.
Enjoy the complex rhythms and let your hair down!
This performance by Daniel Shaw's Composer's choir (based in Connecticut)
is a brilliant rendition of the piece and will, I hope,
encourage other church choirs and concert choirs to consider including it in their repertoire.

Our repertoire is all original, written by choir members and has emerged as a new tribal choral tradition that honors death as a natural, expected, sometimes very inspiring event in a life. While we don't require auditions, our welcome process is rigorous. This kind of singing is spiritual work and is deeply rewarding for those who are called to it.
