Sung at a choral course in Nottingham in 1977
Sing we and chant it
While Love doth grant it
Not long youth lasteth
And old age hasteth
Now is best leisure
To take our pleasure
All things invite us
Now to delight us
Hence, care, be packing!

We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences.
Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. We are always concerned with maintaining a good balance of voices, and we cannot promise to accept all applicants.

The sheet music is not the Song!
[this is a version of a post which first appeared on my blog From the Front of the Choir]
A while ago I wrote about an artist who thought that music resides in the musical notation and a musician's job is to realise that notation perfectly.

Lyrics: Matías Antón Mena
Music Arr.: Javier Busto
An absolutely romantic text that a man writes to his wife as a declaration of Love. The piece was written for the 50th anniversary of the Habaneras Contest in Torrevieja, Spain. The musical writing has nothing of a traditional habanera. The constant habanera rhythm is not present but must be felt as an internal rhythm. What I have included is the alternation of minor and major modes so typical of habaneras.
