It has gone on to perform in more than 150 concerts, broadcasts on BBC Radios 2, 3, 4, the World Service and Classic FM and has appeared on BBC's Songs of Praise and The One Show.

With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities. We rehearse every Thursday night from 7-8:30 pm. Our members not only enjoying get together to sing some of their most favourite songs but also having a catch up with each other every week. We are committed singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and have opportunities...  moreIrish Doctors Choir members are enthusiastic and experienced singers, mostly, but not exclusively, doctors or medical students. We are committed singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and have opportunities to perform some of the great works from the Classical choral repertoire to a high standard and in exciting venues. We also enjoy singing simple music well at smaller performances on our rehearsal weekends and at conference events. Although our performances are mostly in Ireland, we have quite a few singers from other countries, including UK, France, Germany and Sweden. During 2020, we have held online rehearsals using Zoom and produced two online concerts, raising 11,000 Euro for charity.  less
