On its first attempt at ...  moreFormally organized in August 2006, the Ars Cantica Ensemble is a choral group composed of young professionals from different university choirs who want to spread the Word of God through musical talent and commitment to service. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the choirs invited to grace the Sing For Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records. They take their name after Bruce Springsteen’s album The Seeger Sessions, since their first concert took place at a lecture on American Folk Music when Springsteen was touring Italy in 2006. In 2011 they published their first CD, Songs of Freedom, a collection of protest songs with a strong connection to the Civil Rights Movement. In 2015 TSV published their first original single, “Graces (Dropping Again)” written by ZogaroS. In 2017 TSV will release a concept album of 16 songs and Vocal interludes composed and produced by all the girls. “Broken Dream”, written by Chiara Cortez and Emanuele Jorma Gasperi, is the first single published to launch the record.  less

Its aim is to provide opportunities for young singers at the early stages of performing careers, as well as for talented musicians who have chosen not to pursue careers in the music, but wish to continue singing to a high standard. They currently comprise singers from many established choirs, including Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Choir, Ex Cathedra, Armonico Consort, The Choir of Royal Holloway, Genesis Sixteen, Portsmouth Cathedral and York Minster. The group specialises in undiscovered or little-known British music, and in the music of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Working with its Guest Conductor, Neil Ferris, Convivium Singers have recorded two discs of contemporary choral music by Jonathan Dove (NAXOS – due March 2012) and Hugh Benham (Convivium Records – due November 2011). With their voices as the only musical instrument, Latvian Voices have developed a unique individual Vocal style, in which intonations from ethnic music of many nations intertwine. Majority of the repertoire is arranged and composed by the members of the group, most of all by Laura Jēkabsone. The repertoire of Latvian Voices is wide: from Latvian folk songs and original compositions with lyrics from Latvian traditional folklore to examples of Classical music in inventive transcriptions. The concerts are usually enriched with arranged melodies of popular and worldwide known songs as well as modern original compositions by Latvian Voices.  less
