Since our...  moreBlend Vocal Association is a Calgary women’s vocal Ensemble that was established in 2011. Our 14-member group unites in 3 and 4 part harmony. We share our love of singing by performing an entertaining selection of music from a variety of genres. Since our inception, we strive to engage all our audience members, from the musically sophisticated to first-timers. We enjoy bringing our performance art to the Calgary community. We perform at two major concerts per year as well as various community performances. As a distinctive and dynamic women’s vocal Ensemble, we collaborate with local artists to perform unique arrangements of familiar and eclectic repertoire. Blend Vocal Association strives to unite in harmony and share our love of singing by performing a diverse and entertaining selection of musical styles. We ensure our musically sophisticated and first-time audience members leave our multiple-layered performances feeling entertained, upbeat and inspired.  less

It is supported by a smaller, auditioning Fulham Camerata Ensemble which is made up of professional and semi-professional singers, allowing the main Camerata to tackle exciting repertoire and maintain high musical standards while fostering the careers of young professionals. The choir also offers choral scholarships to promising young soloists which provides vocal support for the amateur choir, and fosters career development for the scholars. The amateur and Ensemble groups come together for at least three main concerts a year with additional Christmas concerts, sometimes with orchestra. Through his diligent guidance, the group has impressed its audiences with the depth and range of its interpretive skills in performances of a capella early music repertoire. ESPRIT was awarded a first prize at the Peel Music Festival in April 2012, and is the proud recipient of the Hon. Barbara A. Hagerman Award for first place at the 2012 Ontario Provincial Music Festival. In August 2012, ESPRIT was awarded second place in the Canadian Nationals of the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals (Class 100 - Honourable Barbara A. Hagerman – Best performance by a community choral group 19 and up).
