The objective was to bring about musical performances...  is).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreisplay:none;">The LAZ EKWUEME CHORALE was founded in October 1974 with a view to getting together in a small choir the best available and professionally trained singers in Lagos, the then Federal Capital of Nigeria. The objective was to bring about musical performances (of choral works by foreign and Nigerian composers) of sufficiently high standard for international consumption, within the limitations of national resources. The CHORALE which has grown in size to over 100 singers has given numerous concerts in Lagos and other towns in Nigeria, including Aba, Abakaliki, Abeokuta, Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Enugu, Ibadan, Ife, Nsit Atai, Oko, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Umuahia and Uyo. It has performed many times on Radio and Television and has featured on many State, National and International functions. It was the nucleus of the Nigerian National Choir for FESTAC 77. To date they have given over 1500 local youngsters vocal coaching and experience of professional-standard live performance. WYV is run by a team of experienced volunteers who give their time freely to be able to pass this experience on - the team consists of two primary school teachers, two doctors and a critical care nurse! Warwickshire Young Voices provide high quality musical activities for children from age 2 to age 16 through a range of classes, choirs and workshops. In all activities, Warwickshire Young Voices prides itself on professionalism - with performances reaching the highest standards. Their Musical Director, and resident composer, often writes music specifically for the children. Warwickshire Young Voices are a busy group.
