There was a dawn I ReMember

Water Ruminations is a setting of six poems by the thirteenth-century poet Rumi, in English translations from the Persian by Coleman Barks, for double choir and organ. The poetry sings of literal and spiritual connections between water and sky, a drop of water and human life, flowing water and love, drinking water and its container, the giddiness of spring and rolling seas, and the ocean's gifts and singing. Its images, from 800 years ago, sp... less

As you may observe, forMer Members of the choir (those without the burgundy coates) are welcoMed up to join the choir in this finale song in each concert, as it has been for 37 years in a row! (And if they are observed by the conductor when arriving to the churc and choose NOT to join, they are very kindly told to do so! This caused a special occasion in this concert: a mother and a daughter singing in the saMe choir! :-))
This year our guest conductor Inger Lise Hope, also a forMer Member, took on the job at short notice because of illness. Indeed, she did a great job in three concerts! less
