She has played a prominent role in guiding the Choir in singing its eclectic repertoire of pop, Broadway numbers, classical choral, and even African chants and gypsy wedding songs. nůmama has its beginnings as a mother and baby group in 2009, and has since grown into a Choir for all women. In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Ce...  moreComposer/pianist Ola Gjeilo joins the CWU Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director) in presenting Gjeilo's "The Ground" - featuring the the CWU string faculty members who comprise the Kairos String Quartet. In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the Choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo accompanies the Choir on "The Ground" He is playing a written accompaniment on this video. He created an improvised accompaniment on the other two videos of this series. One is on his setting of the "Ubi Caritas" text and the other is on his composition, "Northern Lights", Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moment", the project was entitled "In the Moment".
