With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities. A restless, energetic SATB piece suitable for collegiate Choirs. A driving piano part--influenced by minimalism and rock music--provides a rhythmic impetus for more expansive, colorful vocal lines. At turns frenzied, lyrical, and visceral, this piece pays disillusioned tribute to that not-so-glamorous icon of the open road, the Greyhound bus.  

Factum Arte Choir was formed in 2009, mostly by students trained in the Kodaly method of music instruction taught by her musical director and professor Katalin Hajnoczy, degree in music education, direction and piano by the Music Academy Ferenz Liszt (Hun...  moreFactum Arte Choir was formed in 2009, mostly by students trained in the Kodaly method of music instruction taught by her musical director and professor Katalin Hajnoczy, degree in music education, direction and piano by the Music Academy Ferenz Liszt (Hungary), and with a long career devoted to education in various places and educational institutions of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. Very high unpretentious music, the Choir was created to provide coverage to the need to sing and further training of a group of friends singing around the figure of his teacher. The time spent on the trials is very low in comparison to a standard chorus but over the years has drawn new members, has taken on challenges in terms of repertoire, has been federated, offers concerts by the municipalities of Biscay, and share their work in exchanges with other Choirs in and out of Euskadi. Since the beginning of his career have enjoyed the cooperation of Garbiñe Abendaño as a teacher of vocal technique.  less
