The 21 classically trained outstanding vocalists of The Nathaniel Dett Chora...  moreThe Nathaniel Dett Chorale is Canada’s first professional choral group dedicated to Afrocentric music of all styles, including classical, spiritual, gospel, jazz, folk and blues. The 21 classically trained outstanding vocalists of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale have shared the stage with internationally recognized artists such as Juno Award-winning jazz pianist Joe Sealy, singers Molly Johnson and Jackie Richardson, and opera star Kathleen Battle and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble has performed for such luminaries as opera singer Jessye Norman and Dance Theatre of Harlem founder Arthur Mitchell. The Chorale has performed at events honouring world leaders Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, personality Muhammad Ali, and pianist Oscar Peterson and was the only Canadian ensemble invited to perform as part of the celebrations surrounding the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama in January of 2009.  less

Members of ...  moreThe Virginia Wesleyan Chorale is a small, auditioned group at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. The choir is composed of 16-20 singers from all majors who perform a variety of music, from classical, to folk, to contemporary jazz. Members of the Wesleyan Chorale also perform in the Wesleyan Singers, an open-enrollment ensemble that performs a variety of music while developing vocal technique and musicianship skills.

We perform a wide range of repertoire, from Renaissance to contemporary works. All of our singers have been hand-picked and sing with some of the top amateur and professional choirs in the country, including: I Fagiolini, Genesis Sixteen, The Carice Singers, Renaissance, The National Youth Choir of Great Britain and many more. We are looking forward to bringing many exciting programmes of choral music to audiences in York, the rest of the United Kingdom and further afield.  less

Mr & Mrs Sam Korankye Ankrah, the Apostle General and his wife the Premier Lady of Royalhouse Chapel International, serves as the Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the choir. The choir has two (2) album to its credit namely Kashe Gbeye (Danceable tunes) & Afe Ato Hen (A Christmas Danceable tunes) and several live performances ranging from hymns, anthems, classical etc to its credit.
