Brahms' A German Requiem and Poulenc's Gloria, composed a century apart, express the joys and sorrows of being human.
His mother's death, compounded Brahms' raw grief at the loss of his friend and mentor Robert Schumann nine years earlier to inspire this beautiful musical meditation on the tragedy of death. Brahms' intensely personal 'Requiem for Humanity' responds to the tragedy of mortality with a radiant affirmation of the consolation of faith.
Poulenc's Gloria has astonished, delighted and shocked audiences since its 1961 premiere: joyous and playful, charming, strident and sombre, Poulenc's musical pyrotechnics are stunning.

WHAT WE DO
Every week, Creativity Australia's With One Voice choirs inspire people from more than 40 nationalities, aged 9 to 90, to sing side-by-side. Age, race, language, religion, disability and disadvantage fade away. Everyone is welcome.
WHY WE DO IT
For some, choir is a way to de-stress after work. For others, it's a first glimpse into Australian life after arriving here as a migrant, asylum seeker or refugee. For others, it's an opportunity to connect to networks, skills and employment. It's all about joy, freedom and inspiration.
