Our latest performance was back up for Barry Manilow! We have sung our way through Germany and Austria and on two separate occasions at Disneyland and California Adventures. We had the honor of performing at Pearl Harbor and aboard the USS Missouri in Hawaii. Our choir also participated in a combined concert with Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA and last fall we were chosen to be a part of a larger ensemble to sing in Rome, Italy, performing at the Vatican. "Digapoli" was the name of the small village where the workers who built the Cancano dam lived. The Cancano dam is located in Valtellina, in norther Italy. DIGAPOLI (Cancano-Valdidentro) è il nome della piccola cittadina che si era formata per ospitare i lavoratori durante la costruzione delle dighe di Cancano (Diga-Polis) Fuggì la notte a passi di cerbiatta e già in cantiere urla la sirena. The group was founded in 2008 by three of Carrington’s former students who shared the desire to form an elite professional vocal chamber ensemble under his direction. SCCS, an ensemble of 24 Singers, performs a diverse and challenging repertoire that spans the ages. The ensemble performs with Jon Washburn and the Vancouver Chamber Choir on three or four concert programmes each season and also presents one or two independent concerts with its own conductor. Pacifica Singers provides an ideal performance venue for experienced and motivated choral Singers whose goal is to make music at a very high level. By providing direct exposure to the world of professional music making, it is an experience of great value for Singers intending to make a career in music. Current members live throughout the lower mainland, with many serving as conductors, music educators, and/or professional Singers in their communities.  less
