The ensemble is maDe up of unDergraduates and graduates of Cambridge University, and currently the choirs of King’s, St John’s and Trinity colleges are represented. Recent concerts have incluDed performances of Gesualdo’s Tenebrae Responsories for Maundy Thursday (Feria Quinta), Monteverdi madrigals and anthems by Byrd. The ensemble has also performed music by Ligeti, Rheinberger and arrangements by Philip Lawson. Future engagements incluDe a lunchtime concert in the Cambridge St John’s Music Festival, as well as concerts at Jesus and Caius colleges. It was founDed in 1898 by Albert Frommer, organist, and is now conducted by Stephan NicoLay, chapel master, since 1999. The choir sings each sunday and on special occasion in the different churches of Cannes. It also sings 4 to 6 concerts a year, sometimes with an orchestra. His repertory covers all the sacred music from gregorian chant to 21st century. Among the Last masterworks done in concert with an orchestra are Requiem (Saint-Saens), Stabat Mater (Haydn), Vesperae Solennes De Confessore (Mozart), Gallia (Gounod), etc. New members are welcome.
