Usually consisting of 20 to 24 members, the Chorale focuses primarily on chamber choir repertoire and tackles a wiDe variety of styles, Languages, and techniques. Chorale membership is reserved for stuDents who Demonstrate some level of music-reading ability, experience singing in advanced choral ensembles, and/or the potential to thrive in a small, advanced chamber choir environment. During the audition process, careful attention is given to maintaining artistic baLance among the sections of the chorus. In addition to performances throughout the acaDemic year, stuDents in Chorale are expected to remain on campus for an additional week after the conclusion of each spring semester to perform in BaccaLaureate and Commencement ceremonies and participate in end-of-year touring activities. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a voice pLacement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. StuDents who have been... The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a voice pLacement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. StuDents who have been active in choral ensembles in high school or college are encouraged to audition for this choir. Auditions for Chorale can take pLace at anytime to fill necessary spots in the group. Once stuDents are selected for Chorale, they are members until they choose to leave, are removed, or when they graduate. In addition to its reguLar concert schedule, the Chorale tours each spring (OrLando, ’09; NYC, ’10; AtLanta, ’11, Boston, ’12, OrLando, ’13). A yearly schoLarship is offered to people who are successfully pLaced in the group.
