About Me Malcolm Duff started playing the piano at the age of four. After leaving school in Scotland he started playing the guitar at university in England and toured with a few bands before moving to France in 1975, where he became a university professor and translator, founding and managing the first translation company in France to be awarded ISO 9001 certification. Personal clients included UNESCO Paris, and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
When his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, he sold his company and retired early to take care of her at their home, but continued to write and record songs over the ten years her illness lasted, becoming a member of SACEM, the French Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music.
His book "The Escorts", chronicling his wife's illness and analyzing the physical and metaphysical issues facing a caregiver, is to be published in 2023 in English, French and Spanish.
An album of the songs whose lyrics illustrate "The Escorts" was released in the spring of 2023, entitled "For You".
