About Me
Music teacher and choir conductor at Šimun Kožičić Benja Elementary School in Zadar, Croatia.
Holds a Master’s degree in Music Culture from the Arts Academy, University of Split.
I completed my secondary music education at the Blagoje Bersa Music School in Zadar, majoring in music theory and solo singing. After graduating from university, I returned to Blagoje Bersa as a substitute teacher – a meaningful step in my journey, teaching in the very school where my own musical path began. Shortly after, I began working full-time at Šimun Kožičić Benja Elementary School, where I continue to teach today.
At the school, I lead both the children’s choir and the children’s klapa Benja. In addition to my school work, I previously directed the extracurricular children’s klapa Riva, where I continued to promote and preserve the Dalmatian klapa tradition among young singers outside the classroom setting.
Through klapa singing, I nurture the rich Dalmatian vocal heritage, helping students connect with their cultural roots. In my work with the choir, I blend traditional and modern elements – our repertoire includes a variety of genres, from classical and sacred music to popular and contemporary pieces.
Music, to me, is more than a profession – it is my calling, my joy, and my way of connecting with others. Whether I’m arranging harmonies or sharing a well-earned laugh with my students after a successful performance, I believe music should always carry a spark of soul and a touch of joy.
