About Me
Brendan Walls has been the director of music ministries at St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Crofton, MD for twenty-one years and church music has been a life-long vocation. Born in England, his love of music comes from his father who sang and danced into his late eighties (2 of his siblings teach piano). He began as a chorister at St John's in Portsmouth with Fr David Whitehead, learned piano with Annekate Friedlander, and played organ and guitar at his parish of St Joseph’s in Havant, also directing the Folk Group. He sang with and occasionally accompanied or directed the Renaissance Choir. Studied music and divinity at Liverpool Hope University, with professors Gordon Green, Noel Rawsthorne and Peter Clark, while singing bass at the Metropolitan Cathedral. For the next 21 years he was a school music-teacher, and directed community choirs, contemporary church groups, Anglican, Methodist and AME Parish Choirs, until starting full-time in Crofton in 2002. He still coaches voice and keyboard, and is a volunteer Enneagram life coach at Catholic Charities' Christopher Place in Baltimore. He lives in Riva with his cat, Pearly.
