Tomislav Veršić in the school year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following school year, the Choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the Choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the Choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the school and thus of this historical review as well.
The Choir continued its work under the name of “Marko Marulić” High School in the school year 2004/05. Since 2006 until now, the Choir has performe... less

The Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praising the Lord through song. Soon, however, the weekly Choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over the years, the Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only the diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences.
UTGC has burst onto the international scene, while continuing to serve the greater Toronto community in local concerts and University events held throughout the year, like their community Christmas concert, and May's Gospelfest. In the past, the Choir has also participated in the annual "The Colours of Christmas" concert as the guest of top international recording artists, such as Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack, and Jon Secada, just to na... less

This outdoor performance was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a Choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Usually eight songs are learnt in six two-hour sessions and in the summer are performed outdoors near Ipswich. http://chrisrowbury.com less
