It was founded in 1998 in response to the success of the Choral Meeting of Alexandria Municipality and mainly because of the Alexandrians who love the choral Music and the encouragement of the Board Members of the Choir at the time.
Like Melissanthi, Alexandrian Voices is, in the wider area of Alexandria, the Music institution that target to the development of choral Music, of course through the good company and the love for Music itself. From the beginning it counts approximately 50 choristers, all amateurs (meaning that none has studied Music) who love and sing almost all kinds of Music.
Since their beginning, Alexandrian Voices had the opportunity to participate and be distinguished in numerous events, competitions or not, Musical or of special interest.
Based on the International Choir Classification, Alexandrian Voices are ranked into the 1000 best choirs in the world for both 2011 and 2012.

The ensemble prepares concerts twice a year, singing highly diverse repertoire, ranging from renaissance compositions to contemporary Music and everything in between. They take their name after Bruce Springsteen’s album The Seeger Sessions, since their first concert took place at a lecture on American Folk Music when Springsteen was touring Italy in 2006.
In 2011 they published their first CD, Songs of Freedom, a collection of protest songs with a strong connection to the Civil Rights Movement.
In 2015 TSV published their first original single, “Graces (Dropping Again)” written by ZogaroS. In 2017 TSV will release a concept album of 16 songs and vocal interludes composed and produced by all the girls. “Broken Dream”, written by Chiara Cortez and Emanuele Jorma Gasperi, is the first single published to launch the record. less

Its aim is to provide opportunities for young singers at the early stages of performing careers, as well as for talented Musicians who have chosen not to pursue careers in the Music, but wish to continue singing to a high standard. They currently comprise singers from many established choirs, including Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Choir, Ex Cathedra, Armonico Consort, The Choir of Royal Holloway, Genesis Sixteen, Portsmouth Cathedral and York Minster. The group specialises in undiscovered or little-known British Music, and in the Music of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Working with its Guest Conductor, Neil Ferris, Convivium Singers have recorded two discs of contemporary choral Music by Jonathan Dove (NAXOS – due March 2012) and Hugh Benham (Convivium Records – due November 2011).
