It is based in Tsuru City, located at the foot of Mt.Fuji. Under the our conductor, Prof. Masahiko Shimizu, we always practice in this place, blessed in nature, with many friends who get together at Tsuru University. Including the annual concert held on "World Chorus Day" on the second Sunday of December every year, we perform at elementary and junior high schools, social welfare facilities, etc., and sing at Chorus festivals, giving the "TSURUBUN SOUND" in a variety of venues. We have also awarded at the All Japan Chorus Competition in many times and often won top prizes in the largest Chorus competition in Japan.  less

We sing music from the early 1900's through to more modern songs such as Billy Joel, The Rat Pack etc. The Chorus focuses on improving singing techniques and making chords "ring" while at the same time simply having fun. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and the chord just locks together and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for the public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time together as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gather and enjoy their interest in singing. The Harbour Capital Chorus was formed in Wellington on February 4th, 1988 following pioneering work by the “Co-ordinated Chemists” Quartet for several years prior to that. It is composed of members coming from the Senior High School and College levels of the University, and in the recent years, it has bagged awards in different inter-school competitions, including the Southern Luzon Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SLCUAA) Cultural Competition wherein it ranked as the 1st Runner-Up in 2017 and 2018, and the 2nd Runner-Up in 2019. It has also sent its members to acclaimed skill improvement programs such as those organized by the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. wherein its members were hailed as the best in singing workshops in 2016, 2017, and 2018.  less
