TAIKA practices in The Hagu...  moreTAIKA (magic, charm, hex and conjuration) Choir was founded in 2012 by its conductor master of music Karla-Maria Toiviainen. In a short time the choir has achieved a valuable role in the Finnish community in The Netherlands. TAIKA practices in The Hague. The choir has a wide repertoire, ranging from folk to pop, with an emphasis on Finnish female Choral music. However, the choir enthusiastically performs songs from all around the world. The choir performs in a wide range of events hosted by businesses and organisations. In the spring of 2015 the choir was performing for the first time abroad - in Finland. Summer 2017 choir was in Verona, Italy, taking a part of an international choir festival.  less

TBC organizes and participates in “Messiah for the City” and in many local community events. TBC’s “Choral Scholars Program offers subsidy and training to singers aged 19 to 24. VCS has been awarded the Canada Council’s top prize in Choral singing, the Healey Willan Grand Prize, more than any other choir in the country. Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical obje...  moreVoyces, a 20- piece ensemble of young adult choristers, was formed with the aim of performing a challenging, quality mix of contemporary and traditional Choral music. Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical objectives. They chose Voyces – a uniting image, powerful in its simplicity, a word with a bit of a twist, reflecting the eclectic and often unusual repertoire of the choir. In using the archaic spelling – ‘Voyces’ – the choir acknowledges thousands of years of rich Choral tradition whilst establishing itself in the 21st century Choral landscape. The choir is fast making a name for itself premiering works never before heard in Perth or in fact the world. Voyces seeks to be an interactive and involved performing group in the local WA and wider Australian musical community. As a strong supporter of emerging young composers and Australian composers, Voyces showcases their works on a regular basis.  less
