The style of singing is more 'pop' than classical and The choice of music reflects this, with The repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from The 1930s to today, as well as classic barbershop arrangements. There are strong links to musical Theatre in that most songs are choreographed, and performing skills are a key element in making a song work. We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's. These young people togeTher with some pupils of The newly created Conservatory of Coria (1991), begin to take part in numerous religious acts where They interpret authors' plays like To. Lotti, W.A. Mozart, J.A. García, J.S. Bach, G.F. Haendel, and so on. In 1995 The young Sergio Asián takes charge of The choir direction leading it to offering its first concert in June 1996. We have a remarkable repertoire of many choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. MaThews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. The choir was formed in 2002 under The directorship of Ellie Davidoff. Choir membership consists of youth from The 8th grade through to college age students. Now in Their 13th season, this choir has grown in membership as well as experience. There are still several original members, and every season They are joined by Their younger siblings and new friends, who add strength and spirit to The group. The repertoire of The Vision of Peace Youth Choir consists of hymns and folk songs sung in The traditional Doukhobor acapella style that has been passed from generation to generation for over 200 years.
