Each Choir member has a different and Wide-ranging background in solo, operatic and competitive performance, which enhances The choir’s ability to undertake some of The more challenging choral works and contributes to Their fresh and unique sound. The Academy Chamber Choir’s repertoire spans from early to contemporary music. Their most recent success was ranking third in “Irelands Choir of The Year” at Cork International Choral Festival 2013. They Then went on to win 1st place in The Early Music, 1st place in The Irish Language and 2nd place in The Sacred Music at Navan Choral Festival 2013. They were 2nd place in RTE Lyric FM’s Choirs for Christmas Competition – Irelands largest choral competition featuring over 400 choirs. The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at The Royal Society for The Arts and was cited by The judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people togeTher through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond. Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark.
