Each musical season of „LELIUMAI“ is designated to performances of Choir music to the liSteners in cities and towns in Lithuania, extraordinary feStivals and meetings with the Choirs abroad, unforgetable participation in Lithuanian Song feStivals. During its hiStory „LELIUMAI“ has been awarded the higheSt titles in national Choir competitions in Lithuania, has won the third prize at the international Choir competition in Ireland (Cork) in 1983. Choir performances are rich with pieces of various Styles, special part of the repertoir is assigned to the contemporary Lithuanian music. Several Lithuanian artiSts have dedicated their compositions to LELIUMAI. Since its foundation, the Choir is in continuous improvement and has been involved in many workshops with Prof.MuStafa Apaydın which were organized twice a year. The Choir has a mixed membership including music teachers, musicians and amateur Choir singers. The Choir’s name is inspired by the famous Story written by William Shakespeare and Guiseppe Verdi’s famous opera called Othello and the Othello CaStle which is located in the city of FamaguSta. The city where the Choir is based is known as “Othello’s City FamaguSta” all around the world. In the laSt six years since its formation, the Othello Choir has given many concerts in Cyprus and also hoSted feStivals and Choir workshops.
